Ross Kemp’s ‘Extreme Worlds’ Filming in Northern Ireland
11 Jul 2013 : By Kevin Cronin
Ross Kemp investigates political tension in Northern Ireland.
Former Eastenders actor Ross Kemp - who won a Bafta for his 2006 series on gangs - is filming an episode of his Sky One programme ‘Extreme Worlds’ in Belfast, focusing on the political tensions surrounding planned Orange Order parades this week.

Kemp had intended to film parade marchers on their way towards Ardoyne in North Belfast this 12th July - although a ruling today by the Parades Commission means that the Ardoyne parade is now banned, following violent sectarian clashes in recent years.

Earlier in the week Kemp attended a press conference at PSNI headquarters ahead of the parade and interviewed protesters in Ardoyne.

He filmed an episode of the upcoming series in Derry earlier this year.

Kemp also recently investigated India's sex-trafficking industry in Mumbai and Calcutta, and previously visited Venezuela and the Congo.

Kemp played Grant Mitchell in ‘Eastenders’ from 1990 to 2006 and also starred in ‘Ultimate Force’ and Ricky Gervais’ mockumentary ‘Extras’.

As a documentary maker, Kemp has filmed programmes in Kenya, Afghanistan, the Middle East, the Amazon and searched for pirates in Somalia, Nigeria and Southeast Asia.

He also made Sky One documentary ‘Ross Kemp: Invisible Wounded’ about British soldiers who suffer post-traumatic stress after returning from combat.

Season three of 'Extreme Worlds' will air on Sky One in November.
