Pinewood Studios thanks the government as 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' filming wraps

Pinewood Studios has issued a release about the filming of 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' in Ireland, thanking the Irish Government for their support.

After a successful two week shoot at coastal locations on Irelands ‘Wild Atlantic Way’, the Irish leg of Star Wars: Episode VIII wrapped in Dingle, County Kerry, on Wednesday 25th May.

Pinewood Productions Ireland co-produced through its wholly owned subsidiary, Space Bear IR DAC. Pinewood Studios wishes to thank the Irish Government, particularly the Department of Arts Heritage & the Gaeltacht, for their support throughout pre-production and principle photography.

To celebrate the shoot wrapping in Ireland, Rian Johnson, Director of 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' tweeted:

Star Wars: Episode VIII is due for release in December 2017, directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. The production is currently based at Pinewood Studios
