Following its recent successful screening on TG4, ‘An Klondike’ will now be available to audiences worldwide having been sold to a series of international broadcasters by its distributor Content Media.
The first season of ‘An Klondike’ will be streaming on Netflix where it will be available under its international title ‘Dominion Creek’.
"Our ambition with An Klondike was to create a drama series that could be shown anywhere in the world," said series creator Dathaí Keane, "it is a series that tells a uniquely Irish story but in a way that will appeal to audiences worldwide and it's a testament to the quality of the production, and the very high calibre of the work of everyone who was involved, that international broadcasters and platforms like Netflix have acquired the series."
‘Dominion Creek’ is produced by Abú Media and tells the story of the Connolly’s — three Irish brothers (Dara Devaney, Owen McDonnell and Sean T O Meallaigh) who journey from the silver mines of Montana to the Klondike Valley in the hope of striking it rich. They seek their fortune in Dominion Creek, a town built on greed, where the Connolly’s become embroiled in a deadly feud with Jacob Hopkins, the man who runs Dominion.
The film version of the series has received acclaim after premiering at the Galway Film Fleadh earlier this year with a lot of praise aimed towards Keane’s direction, the performances, the story and the cinematography as well as the Production Design. For the series, the mining town of Dominion Creek was constructed on the grounds of the Glengowla mines outside Oughterard in Co. Galway.
Dominion Creek is available to stream on Netflix from December 14.
