Savage Food Catering Secures Love/Hate Contract
05 Mar 2014 : Aisling Newton
Film and TV commercial catering company Savage Food, a division of Fitzers Catering Ltd., which was re-launched in July 2009 by Sharon Fitzpatrick (owner/director), Noeleen Sharkey (director) and Caroline Cassidy (manager), has secured the Love/Hate catering contract for season five.

The Irish owned company is known throughout the film and TV industry for their high quality foods and various menu options, which cater for everyone’s needs. Their mobile units allow them to provide location catering to a range of productions throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland from small budget films to international blockbusters.

The company scored its first contract with Jim Sheridan’s ‘In the Name of the Father’ in 1993. It have since gone onto develop connections with many production managers and companies on various film sets including ‘The Silence’, ‘Michael Collins’, ‘Angela’s Ashes’, ‘Braveheart’, ‘When Harvey Met Bob’, ‘Albert Nobbs’, and most recently ‘Moonfleet’ and ‘The Widower’.

While working on back to back films for many years, the company has also held-up connections with TV productions (Ballykissangel, All Ireland Talent), sporting events (Croke Park), corporate catering and music festivals such as Oxygen, Slane and Electric Picnic.

Love/Hate, which begins shooting in March, has just signed up Savage Food to cater for their growing cast and crew over the 10week filming period. Speaking about the contract, the company’s owner and director Sharon Fitzpatrick said: “We are delighted to get the contract for Love/Hate. We have a high standard that we operate to here at Savage Food and we know exactly what each customer wants. It’s a matter of making sure we are at the top of each production managers list when it comes to catering.”

Fitzpatrick added that: “We are always conscious not to over-expand too much. We have a unique blend of people working here and it is important to pick personalities that fit the job. Catering is an extremely tailored business, so we only ever do two films at a time. We like to keep the quality and focus on the clients as much as possible.”

Depending on the size of locations, Savage Food deploys up to four employees on each site with mobile kitchens stocked with a range of tastes and options. Savage Food continually invests in its staff, providing training programmes in all areas including Customer Service, Dining Presentation, Room Layout, Service Issues and Health & Safety in order to enhance both the capabilities of its staff and subsequently client service experience.
