Abú Media have just started a run of recording for their kids’ quiz show, ‘Bog Stop’ in Galway's Black Box theatre. Now in its 4th year, the series is funded by RTÉ for broadcast on TG4 where it forms a part in their daily kids schedule going out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Máíre Treasa Ní Dubhghaill returns again to present the show which is directed by Páidi O'Lionnaird (Turas Teanga). ‘Bog Stop’ is a fast moving quiz show where schools go head to head on 30 plasma screens known as the Zone
Producer on the series for Abú Media is Pierce Boyce (Fear an Phoist) who acquired the Australian format three years ago at MIPTV from Ambience Entertainment based in Sydney. "The show has been a great success with the kids on Cúla 4 and having Máire Treasa present once again is such a bonus,” Pierce tells IFTN. “She just adds so much to the show and has now become an integral part of the production from beginning to end.
"We've just started the run and with 66 shows to go it will make for an interesting few weeks here in the Black Box,” he continues, “schools are coming form all over Ireland and it's a great day out from the classroom for the children. The questions are fun and informative and it's such a clever format, thoroughly enjoyable from the participants’ point of view but more importantly for me from a production point of view.”
The series will record until the end of April and will then broadcast on TG4 form January 2011.
