Treasure Entertainment & RTÉ have announced that Amy Huberman’s highly anticipated new comedy-drama ‘Finding ‘Joy’ will air on RTÉ One later this month.
The six-part comedy series, which is produced by Treasure Entertainment finished shooting in Dublin back in May and follows a single woman, Joy, who after a painful breakup looks for happiness in all the wrong places.
Written by and starring Amy Huberman, ‘Finding Joy’ also stars Aisling Bea, Laura Whitmore, Lochlann O’Mearain, Jennifer Rainsford, Catherine Walker, Paul Reid, Hannah Scott and Mark Doherty.
The series is being produced by Rob Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan, directed by Kieron J Walsh (‘Jump’, ‘The Savage Eye’) and Director of Photography is Cathal Watters (‘Peaky Blinders’). RTÉ is co-producing with Acorn TV, which it has done previously on dramas ‘Striking Out’ and ‘Acceptable Risk’.
The show explores the many amusing ways we seek happiness and fulfilment in these modern digital times by following 34-year-old Joy, who is just trying to get on with her life after a recent break up from her long-term boyfriend, Aidan. ‘Finding Joy’ is a warm, irreverent show with a lot of heart and laughs as Joy struggles with life, her friends and her world.
The first episode airs on RTÉ One - Wednesday, October 10th at 9:30pm.
