Amanda Byram, IFTA Gala TV Awards Presenter
The most distinguished Irish talent on the small screen will be honoured at the awards ceremony this Friday, October 7th and will air to audiences on Sunday at 22:00 on TV3.

Amanda Byram will present the prestigious awards to nominees across twenty-three categories.

In addition this week will see the debut episode of new current affairs show ‘Pat Kenny Tonight’ on TV3 this Wednesday October 5th on TV3.

The IFTA Gala TV Awards: Sunday, 22:00 on TV3
This year marks Byram’s second time presenting the prestigious awards show, dedicated especially to celebrating Irish television talent at the DoubleTree in Dublin.

The exceptional line-up of nominees this year sees a particularly strong Writer – Soap and Comedy category, with ‘Bridget & Eamon’ team Jason Butler, Jennifer Zamparell and Bernard O'Shea contending with Sharon Horgan for ‘Catastrophe’, Brendan O’Carroll for ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’, and Paul Kelly for ‘Red Rock’.

Other standout categories include Reality and Constructed Factual, which sees ‘First Dates Ireland’ from COCO Television alongside ‘Rubgy’s Wheelchair Challenge’ from Loosehorse, ‘Operation Transformation 5k Special’ from VIP and Motive Television’s ‘Toughest Place to Be.’

Amanda Byram, Presenter:
“I am so honoured to have been invited back to host the IFTAs for a second year running. It makes me so proud to celebrate Irish television talent, in front and behind the camera, and to be the Host of a night like this is such a joy for me."

Frank Agnew, Producer
"It's a big honour for me to be involved with the Academy and to be part of an event that rewards and highlights the good work of people throughout our industry. The business here in Ireland has been through some very lean years, so if you're still making good TV you deserve the recognition. And as a previous winner I think it means more when it comes from your peers. They know what you had to do to get your show to air, they understand the effort.

This is a big event, a star-studded affair and I hope it's a great night too. I want the audience at home to see a different side to their favourite soap and comedy stars. And I think Sunday night is perfect for sitting back and watching a red carpet event on the telly, it's a last bit of entertainment before the weekend comes to a close."

Pat Kenny Tonight: Wednesday, 21:30 on TV3
This week marks the debut episode of Pat Kenny’s new current affairs programme on TV3, which was announced at the launch of the broadcaster’s Autumn schedule. Kenny is set to co-host with Colette Fitzpatrick, discuss stories of the week and interview leading politicians.

Kenny will also be honoured at the IFTA Gala TV Awards Ceremony with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognises his incredible body of work in television and Irish broadcast.
