‘Once In A Lifetime Dundalk 79/80’ to air on Setanta Sports Ireland on September 1st
01 Sep 2015 : Seán Brosnan
Produced by Square One Productions
Square One Productions new documentary ‘Once In A Lifetime - Dundalk 79/80’ will screen on Setanta Sports Ireland at 10.15pm on Tuesday, September 1st following sold out screenings in Dundalk in August.

It follows the most successful journey of any Irish soccer team in the European Cup when the regional club were one kick away of a ball away from a quarter final with Real Madrid.

‘Once In A Lifetime’ is written, produced and directed by Shane Tobin (Hill 16, Great War Diaries, Men in Black) and shot by Joe Hoey (The Donegal All Black) with filming in Dublin, Dundalk, Belfast, Glasgow and Amsterdam. Áine Furlong was the editor and all the post production and graphics were carried out in Reelgood facilities with Rory Gavin grading the piece.

Producer/ Director Shane Tobin said: "This was a chance to explore a fascinating period in Irish soccer and showcase the history of the league of Ireland that is so overlooked in TV coverage today. With all of the politics on and off the pitch and playing teams such as Linfield FC and Celtic FC it really was a once in a lifetime season for the club. We merge the history and politics with the amazing sporting exploits of the players in a cracking hour of TV for viewers and it has been a real hit in Dundalk."

‘Once In A Lifetime – Dundalk 79/80’ is available on Setanta Sports Ireland (Freeview) and was made with the support of the BAI Sound and Vision fund.
