With international co-productions at the base of their filmographies, 31 players in the European film industry have been selected to represent EAVE (European AudioVisual Entrepreneurs) in their respective countries, with Irish producer Edwina Forkin announced by the EAVE network as their choice to promote EAVE in Ireland.
Edwina has over seventeen years experience in Film and Television production. She is currently the creative producer and CEO of Zanzibar Films, which she set up in 2002. In addition to developing its own material, Zanzibar also acts as a co-producer on a range of Irish and European feature film projects.
Along with Herman Florin of Berlin-based production company Florin Films, she co-produced ‘Swansong - The Story of Occi Byrne’ in 2010 which received six IFTA nominations at the 2011 IFTA awards, including one for Best Film.
Edwina is a graduate of the EAVE, Media Business School and also from the ACE producers program.
A recent co-production of Edwina’s has been ‘The Yank’, starring Colm Meaney and Fred Willard, a co-production between Zanzibar Films and US-based Wet Ears Productions and Rampage Entertainment.
