Pat Collins will give a lecture on Wednesday 12th November as part of The National Film School Lecture Series.
A former editor of Film West magazine, Collins has won numerous awards for his work including an IFTA Award in 2005 for the documentary ‘John McGahern: A Private World’. He was also nominated for an IFTA for his documentary ‘Gabriel Byrne: Stories From Home’. Other documentary credits include ‘Tim Robinson: Connemara’, ‘Pilgrim’, ‘Oileán Thoraí’, ‘Abbas Kiarostami: The Art of Living’, ‘Marooned ‘, ‘Hidden History’ and ‘Living In A Coded Land’.
Collins has also delved into fictional fare, directing the 2012 Irish film ‘Silence’ which garnered the filmmaker a nomination for Best Director at the 2013 IFTA Awards.
