Filming Gets Underway in Dublin on New Irish-American Romantic-Drama

IFTN can reveal that principal photography has begun on romance-drama ‘There You’ll Find Me’.

The indie co-production, which is currently filming on location in Dublin, is scheduled to visit a number of locations throughout Ireland during its shoot.

‘There You’ll Find Me’ includes Academy-Award winning actress Vanessa Redgrave, Saoirse-Monica Jackson (‘Derry Girls’), Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do, La La Land), Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With the Enemy), Katherine McNamara (‘Shadowhunters’), Jedidiah Goodacre (‘Descendants’, ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’),  and Rose Reid (‘The World We Make’). 

Cast by Thyrza Ging (‘The Lobster’) in Dublin/London and Venus Kanani (‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’) in the U.S, the film also includes strong supporting Irish talent Fiona Bell, Ciaran McMahon, Anabel Sweeney and Meg O’Brien.

Helmed by writer/director Brian Baugh, ‘There You’ll Find Me’ follows the journey of aspiring violinist Finley Sinclair (Reid), who escapes New York City to start a new chapter in a coastal village in Ireland. She meets Beckett Rush (Goodacre), an actor on location in Ireland filming a sequel to his dragon-slaying action film franchise. He introduces her to the music of the pubs and the fiddle; she helps him to dream beyond the trappings of his stardom. Beckett’s co-star (McNamara) has other designs on his future. Redgrave plays the pivotal role of Cathleen Sweeney, who carries a secret that might help unlock Finley’s future.

Speaking about the film, Writer/Director Brian Baugh told IFTN:

“I’m very excited to be working with an amazing cast of young stars and award-winning veteran actors to tell this joyful story of self-discovery against the stunning visual backdrop that Ireland offers.”

The film is produced by Nashville-based Nook Lane Entertainment, Red Sky Studios, and Distinction Films in the U.S., alongside Irish-based MK1 Studios.

Producer Ken Carpenter of Nook Lane said:

“The bridge between the US and Dublin has been an easy one to travel on this film working with Julie and Stephen. The robust production community in Ireland paired with beautiful locations, an inviting tax incentive, and the tremendous acting base in Dublin and London (coupled with our U.S. talent) has all shaped an ideal production scenario.”

Julie Ryan of MK1 Productions added:

“Working with my American colleagues to help shape this beautiful story blends the strong indie film scenes in both the U.S. and Ireland. We’re looking forward to sharing this story on both sides of the Atlantic. I’m always eager to showcase Ireland’s beauty whilst constantly discovering new locations. Ireland has so much to give in terms of locations, cast and crew. This is shaping up to be a very exciting film.”

Michael Lavelle (‘Float Like A Butterfly’, ‘Cardboard Gangsters’) is the director of photography with production design by Ferdia Murphy (‘Handsome Devil’, ‘Christmas Perfection’) and costume design by Aisling Wallace Byrne (‘Love/Hate’, ‘Rig 45’). 

‘There You’ll Find Me’ is based on the book by HarperCollins author Jenny B. Jones.
