After a very busy 2015 which saw him feature in four Oscar nominated feature films, Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson is showing no signs of slowing down.
He has just been cast in the Netflix feature ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ which tells the story of the men who founded the incredibly popular ‘National Lampoon’ series. The film will star Will Forte (‘The Last Man on Earth’) in the lead as Doug Kenney while Domhnall Gleeson will play Henry Beard, who formed the National Lampoon humor magazine with Kenney and Robert Hoffman.
The film will be directed by David Wain and written by Michael Colton and John Aboud from Josh Karp’s book. Peter Principato and Jonathan Stern will produce.
Gleeson is currently nominated for two IFTA Awards (the IFTA’s take place on April 9) for his lead performance in ‘Ex Machina’ and his supporting turn in ‘Brooklyn’. The actor also starred in Oscar-winning survival drama ‘The Revenant’ in 2015 as well as ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in 2015.
Upcoming projects include action film ‘Mena’ opposite Tom Cruise as well as ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ which is scheduled to partly shoot in Ireland next month.
