Irish actress Caitriona Balfe has won an EWwy Award for her acclaimed performance in hit British/American time travel drama series ‘Outlander’.
The actress has garnered plaudits and awards for her performance as protagonist Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser on the Starz television series with with publications such as Time, Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter singling out the actress for praise; the latter stating that Balfe is "reason enough to watch the show - she's a confident actress who brings various shades to her character."
Balfe, who has so far won a Saturn Award for the show as well as being nominated for two IFTA’s (for Rising Star and Best Actress Television), will next be seen in Jodie Foster’s feature drama ‘Money Monster’ which co-stars George Clooney as well as the second series of 'Outlander'.
Entertainment Weekly’s EWwy Awards are voted for by the public and honour those who are “snubbed by the Emmy’s”. Balfe won in her category garnering over 80% of the public vote.
