‘Love/Hate's’ Aoibhinn McGinnity has landed a part in HBO series ‘Quarry’, Aidan Turner currently filming three part Agatha Christie adaptation for BBC One and Richard Armitage and Carrie Anne-Moss are the latest to sign on for Gerard Barrett’s new film ‘Brain On Fire’.

Aoibhinn McGinnity lands role in HBO Series ‘Quarry’

Aoibhinn McGinnity has landed a part in HBO series ‘Quarry’, a new drama based on a series of novels written by Max Allan Collins.

The show will centre on a man who returns home from Vietnam after serving in the Marines and finds himself becoming a professional sniper. There is no word on what sort of part McGinnity will play but her character’s name is Mary.

McGinnity is well-known to Irish audiences for her performance as Trish in acclaimed gangster drama ‘Love/Hate’. Other recent roles of McGinnity’s include the lead role in Irish romantic comedy ‘Poison Pen’ as well as roles in ‘Moone Boy’ and ‘Quirke’.

‘Quarry’ is set to air in early 2016 and is currently filming in New Orleans and Tennessee.

Aidan Turner for BBC One Agatha Christie adaptation

Irish actor Aidan Turner has signed on for BBC One's three-part adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic And Then There Were None.

And Then There Were None is set in Devon in 1939 as a group of strangers who have been invited to a house realise there may be a killer among them.

Turner has seen his star rise over the past few years with a role in the BBC remake of 1970’s drama ‘Poldark’ as well as a starring role in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit Trilogy. He also has a role in Jim Sheridan’s upcoming ‘Secret Scripture’ which is currently in post-production.

Turner is joining a cast which includes Charles Dance, Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Toby Stephens and Noah Taylor in the adapatation. And Then There Were None will air on BBC One later this year to mark the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth.

Carrie Anne Moss and Richard Armitage sign on for ‘Gerard Barrett’s Brain On Fire’

Two big name actors have signed on for Gerard Barrett’s ‘Brain On Fire’, which is currently filming in Vancouver.

Carrie Anne-Moss, best known to audience for her role in ‘The Matrix Trilogy’, and ‘The Hobbit’ actor Richard Armitage (who also has a role in Brendan Muldowney’s ‘Pilgrimage’) will play the lead character Chloe Grace Moretz parents in the film.

The film is based on Susannah Cahalan’s bestselling memoir Brain On Fire: My Month Of Madness and follows a young woman who mysteriously starts having seizures and hearing voices. As weeks go by and she rapidly descends into insanity, she moves inexplicably from violence to catatonia. Following a series of outbursts, misdiagnoses and a prolonged hospital stay, a lucky last-minute intervention by one doctor finally gives her a diagnosis and hope to rebuild her life.

Barrett adapted the screenplay and will also direct and co-produce.
