The Portlaoise 26 year old actor is best known in Ireland for playing Darren in the first three seasons of RTÉ hit drama series, ‘Love/Hate’. Though his character was shot down at the end of the third season, his international career has continued to steadily rise since.

Robert Sheehan has been cast as Mark Anthony in the upcoming film ‘Caesar’, which has been described as “a chilling film adaptation of Shakespeare's shocking tale of ambition, betrayal, murder and the supernatural.”

Roman general Mark Anthony was a politician and general involved in a political alliance following the assassination of Julius Caesar and is known for his scandalous affair with the pharaoh Cleopatra.

The film is reported to have a $10 million budget and will be filmed in AED Studios, Flanders, Belgium. It will be directed by Tiago Mesquita.

The young actor also stars in a post-World War II romantic drama in which he plays the lover of an Auschwitz survivor. The English-language film, entitled ‘Anita B.’, was recently released in Italy and it has now been confirmed that Adriana Chiesa Enterprises (ACE), a Roman-based sales company, will launch sales of the film at the European Film Market in the forthcoming Berlin Film Festival.

Sheehan, who is an IFTA nominee, previously played the popular character Nathan Young in E4 TV series ‘Misfits’. For this role, Sheehan was nominated for a BAFTA for Supporting Actor and won the Television Award which was shared between the cast of the show.

Other credits include feature films ‘Cherrybomb’, ‘Killing Bono’, ‘Season of the Witch’ with Nicholas Cage and last summer’s ‘Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones’. He has also appeared on stage in an adaptation of ‘The Playboy of the Western World’.
