New Online Webcasting System AirStream Launches In Ireland

Liam O'Kelly has launched Airstream
New online webcasting system AirStream has been launched in Ireland, with the aim of making live content streaming easier than ever before.

AirSpeed Telecom, the company behind AirStream, has developed a one-stop shop where customers can now stream live content around the world. Rather than having to engage with multiple parties and products, such as for bandwidth, broadcast quality encoding and technical specialists, AirSpeed Telecom has put all elements of webcasting into one turnkey package, making it a unique service available in Ireland.

MD of AirSpeed Telecom, Liam O’Kelly, explained the new product to IFTN: “We provide the encoders on site to encode the content, we provide the connectivity from the site back to the web and we can support up to 10,000 concurrent subscribers on our own network.

“The HD broadcast can go anywhere in the world. We can encode once at the source and deliver to all devices, iPhone, android, tablet, PCM, etc. We support the service with experienced technical specialists, high performance bandwith and broadcast quality encoding. We also have a very economical satellite van for customers one-off or breaking events with onward delivery of live content to anywhere in the world.”

Simple to access and easy to use, O’Kelly sees the innovative product being ideal for corporate conferences, broadcasters, as well as live streaming of bigger events like concerts and homecomings.

O’Kelly and his team at AirSpeed Telecom are well used to catering for events on a large scale, having broadcast the recent visits from Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama and the RBS 6 Nations among others.

“We’ve worked on a number of events where we were responsible for the connectivity. We’ve delivered the communications for the Gobal Irish Economic Forum, the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama, so in all of those situations we were responsible for the connectivity, and in some cases, encoding of the signal and streaming products,” said O’Kelly.

O’Kelly is so confident that AirStream provides a seamless service he says there is no need for an AirSpeed technician to be on site once the product is set up, rather the team watch from an operations room. Once the device is connected to the cameras on site, the live stream is ready to be broadcast to the world.
