The European Union’s MEDIA programme has announced details of its 2012 TV Broadcasting Support scheme, with the application deadline set as June 11.
The scheme aims to support European independent production companies to produce television programmes with at least three European broadcasters attached.
Fiction and animation projects will be provided with a grant of up to 12.5 per cent of the expected production costs, capped at €500,000. Projects of the creative documentary genre will receive a grant of up to 20 per cent of eligible costs, capped at €300,000. The overall budget for the scheme is estimated at €10.8m.
