Los Angeles-based Epic Pictures has secured deals for Neasa Hardiman’s thriller ‘Sea Fever’ and supernatural comedy ‘Extra Ordinary’ from writer/director duo Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman (a.k.a. D.A.D.D.Y).

Starring Danish actor Connie Nielsen and Scottish actor Dougray Scott, ‘Sea Fever’ centres on a ship’s captain (Nielsen), as she fights to save her crew from a mysterious parasite that infests their water supply.

Written and directed by Irish BAFTA Award winner Neasa Hardiman (‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Happy Valley’), the film is produced by Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Fantastic Films (‘Six Shooter’) and co-producers Belgian’s Frakas Productions, Sweden’s Bright Pictures, and Scotland's Makar Productions.

Epic Pictures has closed deals with Challan in South Korea, Eagle Films in the Middle East, and Fox Asia for pan-Asian pay-TV. ‘Sea Fever’ is currently in post-production.

Written and directed by Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman, ‘Extra Ordinary’ is the debut feature film from the directing duo, which world premiered at SXSW Film Festival in March.

The film, which is screening at the Cannes market, is produced by Blinder Films and follows the story of Rose, a sweet, lonely driving instructor in rural Ireland, who is gifted with supernatural abilities.

The film has since picked up a Silver Raven at last month’s Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival and Screen Daily is reporting that Epic has secured deals in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland (Universum Film), CIS and Baltics (Volga Film), Australia (Umbrella Entertainment), New Zealand (Sky New Zealand) and Middle East (Eagle Films).

The 2019 Cannes Film Festival takes place from 14 – 25 May.
