09 Sep 2016 : Katie McNeice
Julian Farino who is known for his work on ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Entourage’ will direct the project, with Patrick Spence from Fifty Fathoms Productions also on board to produce.

McInerny will adapt her novel for the screen, which follows the lives of a collection of misfits in modern-day Cork, Ireland. The writer who hails from Co. Galway, has received both the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction and Desmond Elliott Prize for her work.

On the upcoming project, McInerny has stated:
“I’m so thrilled to be working with Fifty Fathoms and Julian Farino on adapting The Glorious Heresies for the screen. ..It’s really a rare thing to get the opportunity to work with talented and passionate people who share the same vision, and I can’t wait to get cracking."

Farino has praised the novel for the originality of its characters, and sees the makings of a hugely successful television series in the cinematic quality of McInerny’s dialogue.
