My Father's Dragon
News from Annecy where directors Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey, the duo behind the Oscar nominated animated film ‘The Secret of Kells’, are set to re-team for ‘My Father’s Dragon.

The film will be produced by Cartoon Saloon, which is ran by Moore and Twomey along with Paul Young.

Cartoon Saloon are developing the project along with Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn’s Mockingbird Pictures in LA, according to ScreenDaily. The film is an adaptation of Ruth Gannett Stiles children’s books of the same name with Meg LeFauve and John Morgan co-writing the script. The books are about a young boy who runs away to Wild Island to rescue a baby dragon.

Twomey is currently directing Irish co-pro ‘The Breadwinner’ while Moore’s last directorial effort ‘The Song of the Sea’ was nominated for an Oscar in 2015 and also was the first animated film to win the IFTA Award for Best Film. The film continues to be a success worldwide having just landed a distribution deal with Huahua Media in China, one of the first ever Irish films to secure a release in the country.
