The Irish Film Board has announced AFTER '16, a once-off initiative to fund up to 8 short films commemorating, celebrating and ruminating on 1916 and how the events of Easter Sunday and beyond forged the landscape of the following century.
The IFB would like to invite filmmakers to give their response to 1916 and the hundred years since. They are looking for stories, both fact and fiction, which illuminate, surprise and even provoke on the wide subject of 1916 and what is has left in its wake. These stories can be contemporary or period, live action or animation and we welcome projects in both English and Irish language.
Applications from established film-makers as well as newer talent will be welcomed.
The stories should be ambitious and imaginative with the ability to appeal to both local and international audiences.
The films must be ready for delivery no later than JANUARY 2016.
