The competition for the ‘Light in Motion Awards’ will stay open until Monday 30th September 2013. The Foyle Film Festival, now in its 26th year, is one of only a handful of International festivals with Oscar® affiliation and BAFTA recognition.

The festival, organised by the Nerve Centre, and funded and supported by Northern Ireland Screen and Derry City Council, delivers a programme of documentaries, short films and feature films from all over the world.

Recipients of the LIM Award qualify for consideration in the Short Films Category of the Annual Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.

The Three Competition Categories under LIM are: Best Short Film, Best Animation, and Best Documentary. Entries shortlisted for each category will be screened during this year’s Festival which will take place from Wednesday 20th November to Sunday 24th November 2013.
