Clones Film Festival opens call for entries for Short Film Commission 2021
29 Jun 2021 : News Desk
Clones Film Festival
Clones Film Festival intends to further develop its support for film production in the town, and County Monaghan, by commissioning an original short film, to be shot in Clones and the surrounding areas in 2021.

Under this commission by Clones Film Festival, in association with Clones Credit Union, an award of €4,000 will be made towards the cost of the film production; scripting, shooting, editing, and screening.

The Short Film will then be one of the highlights of this year’s festival, taking centre stage on the closing night of Clones Film Festival on October 24th.

Short film, short documentary, and short animation will all be considered.

Applications are invited for original script ideas from filmmakers at all stages of their development.

Due to developing Covid-19 regulations, a review of this competition will take place closer to the deadlines outlines below. All entrants will be updated as decisions are made.

Requirements

The selected filmmaker & team will be required to:

  • Produce a locally shot short; film, documentary, or animation, with a minimum run time of 5 minutes, and no longer than 30 minutes.
  • Include local street scenes or iconic historic location shots within Clones Town, or the locality.
  • Use local extras where required.
  • Meet the deadline date set by the committee, attend, and screen the short on closing night of Clones Film Festival

Applications for the Short Film Commission 2021 will close on July 9th with the committee scheduled to come to a decision on July 12th

The winning project will premiere at the closing night of Clones Film Festival on October 24th.
