The second round of Single project Development results for Creative Europe have been announced with six Irish companies receiving €300,000 in development finance.
The six fiction projects supported are:
- ‘Rare Earth’ - Aliceway Ltd – Bandit Films
- ‘Breakfast at the New Yorker’ - Deadpan Pictures (Grand Pictures)
- ‘Why the Dogs Had To Die’ – Savage Productions Ltd.
- ‘Get Happy’ - CR Entertainment
- ‘Sea Fever’ - Fantastic Films
- ‘Playdate’ – Newgrange Pictures
These latest results bring to €1.9 million the amount awarded to Irish companies for the Development of Film and Television projects and Video Games in the first year of the new Creative Europe Programme.
The Media Television Programming results have also been published this week with animation company Wiggleywoo Ltd. being awarded €131,291 for the production of their TV series ‘The Day Henry Met’.
The first Creative Europe Media Training Results have also been announced. The Irish Film Board (Screen Training Ireland) received €270,000 for two European Media Training Programmes – the company development training programme Screen Leaders and VFX – Script to Screen.
In total €2.4 million has been awarded to Irish companies by the Media Sub-Programme of Creative Europe in its first year of operation.
The Creative Europe Programme (2014-2020) is the EU support fund for the audio-visual and cultural sectors totalling €1.46 billion which replaces the previous Culture and MEDIA programmes. The Media sub-programme supports the ability of the EU’s film and audio-visual industries to develop, distribute and promote their work across all platforms within Europe.
New calls for support in 2015 are due to be published shortly.
