RTÉ Sport is seeking new ideas for its GAA Championship support funding. The international broadcaster is looking for a series of 15 programmes with a maximum budget of €300,000 excluding VAT and the presenter/narrator. The series will transmit on RTÉ Two on Thursdays from 8.30pm to 9pm or on Fridays from 8pm to 8.30pm.
Proposals should complement RTÉ Sports GAA Championship coverage in 2014. Programmes should be 24 minutes in length. They will run for 15 consecutive weeks starting on the 12th/13th of June, running up to and including the 18th/19th of September.
The submission must include a proposed title, a running order for the first programme as well as a list of guests or packages for the series, details of the production team including previous experience, and suggestions for the presenter(s) and/or narrator(s). The series can either be a pre-recorded programme on tape or file, or a live broadcast.
Submissions should consider social media and digital spin offs, that should remain within the prescribed budget. Evidence of an understanding and knowledge of GAA both at county and club level will be crucial to the application.
All queries should be directed towards Deputy Head of Sport Cliona O’ Leary or Paula Fahy, at Cliona.oleary@rte.ie or Paula.fahy@rte.ie respectively. Proposals should be submitted through RTÉ’s eCommissioning system, the link for which is here, under the programme category ‘Sport – GAA Championship Support Programme.’
The closing date is Thursday 8th of May. Submissions must be sent by noon on this date.
