The 18th annual festival based in California which runs from April 20th-27th, is seeking Irish films for entry to the Irish cinema program.
Projects are eligible for submission if the completion date is January 1st 2016 or later, and where projects are not available on the internet or broadcast nationally on cable or satellite television in the U.S. prior to the Festival screening.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 17th. Irish applicants can avail of the following NBFF waiver code: IE2017.
The signature Irish Spotlight event will be presented on April 23rd, celebrating Irish cinema, culture and cuisine. During its eight-day run, the Festival will screen a slate of feature-length Irish narratives, documentaries and a curated Irish Shorts program.
The Festival will collaborate with Culture Ireland, Galway Film Fleadh, Irish Film Institute, Irish Film and TV Academy, The Richard Harris International Film Festival and the Irish Film Board. The selected Irish films will be eligible for audience and Festival awards. The NBFF will assist participating Irish filmmakers with outreach and promotion to various film industry executives and media.
The NBFF has a strong history of presenting Irish films and an engaged audience base interested in Irish cinema and culture. Past notable Irish films that screened at the NBFF, include ‘Songs for Amy’, ‘My Name is Emily’, ‘Life’s A Breeze’, ‘Gold’, ‘You’re Ugly Too’ and ‘The O’Briens’.
