The eighth annual festival is currently accepting short films with a run time of fifteen minutes or less by filmmakers aged between twelve and twenty-four, from individuals, schools, colleges or youth groups.
The deadline for entries is Tuesday, February 28th with all formats welcome including fiction, documentary, animation and music video.
Applicants must submit via WeTransfer to and fill out the application form provided below. Both of these should be directed to firstcutentries @ gmail.com. All applicants will be updated on the status of their submission by the end of March.
Submission Guidelines
- Films entered must be no longer than 15 minutes
- To be eligible for entry, applicants must be between 12 and 24 years old
- Films received after the closing date (February 28th at 5pm) will not be eligible for selection
- There is no limit to the number of films you can submit but each entry must have its own application form and still
- Although adults can assist in making the film, 12-24 year olds must have had significant creative input
- If a filmmaker submitting a film is under 18, an adult must sign the entry form
- The selection panel's decisions are final
- International entries are welcome but all non-English language films must have English subtitles
- Ownership and Copyright: By submitting the film, you acknowledge that you are the sole author
