WHAT’S IN YOUR BAG: Low Budget & Micro-Budget Film Expo

Taking place Saturday 1st April from 10-4pm at Filmbase,Temple Bar
An opportunity for vendors and film professionals to show Dublin’s low budget/micro-budget film community what they have to offer is taking place in Dublin on Saturday 1st April from 10-4pm at Filmbase in Temple Bar.

What’s In Your Bag - Dublin is organized and produced by Glenn Kaufmann.

Glenn Kaufmann has an MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) in film production from the Florida State University Film school. He's worked professionally in the film industry for over 25 years (in the U.S. and Ireland). Glenn’s work includes commercials, corporate/industrials, shorts, and features, on which he's worked as a production manager, assistant director, producer, and location sound recordist.

As a screenwriter Glenn has written numerous shorts and features, and has worked as a reader for film festivals, production companies, and studios. He’s also taught screenwriting as both a classroom lecturer and a workshop writing coach.

After moving to Ireland in 2011 Glenn began to get involved in Dublin’s low budget and micro-budget film community, and is interested in helping those artists find the resources to enhance the production quality and quantity of their work.

A skill building and resource sharing event it will include open panel discussions about ways to facilitate, increase and expand the output of local low budget/micro-budget filmmakers.   


Events will include:
⁃ Local Vendors Marketplace (offering equipment catalogues and advice on setting up accounts, rental insurance, and renting gear for the first time
⁃ Professional skills and equipment demonstrations with
local camera assistants, sound recordists, gaffers, grips,etc.

Panel discussions will include:
⁃ A Fistful of Euros: make a much better film with just a little bit of money
⁃ Paying Your Crew: the value of hiring skilled technicians
⁃ Equipment Rental: tips for first-time rental clients
⁃ Paying for Post: tips for first-time post production clients
⁃ Low Budget & Micro-Budget Tips & Tricks
⁃ Low Budget & Micro-Budget grant and funding opportunities
⁃ Low Budget & Micro-Budget Film Marketing: Festivals & Social Media, etc.
⁃ Green Filmmaking: Sustainable, cost-effective practices for all phases of production

(Please note that for vendors there will be two sessions: 10-1 and 1-4)
