The UK-based Irish talent was listed in the comprehensive line-up of emerging talent in the industry by Screen International with the BFI London Film Festival (October 5th-16th).

The Stars will present as part of the programme of events for the festival in the coming days.

Previous names to appear in the annual showcase include Eddie Redmayne (Theory of Everything), John Boyega (Imperial Dreams) and Felicity Jones (Inferno).

Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly’s recent feature debut ‘Lady MacBeth’ screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film festival alongside work from established Irish talents such as Aisling Walshe (Maudie) and Jim Sheridan (Secret Scripture).

‘Lady MacBeth' recently received the People’s Choice Award at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland.

She was nominated for an Oscar in 2013 for short film ‘Head Over Heels’ which also earned her a Cartoon d’Or and the Student Television Award from the Royal Television Society.

Fionnuala Halligan, Stars of Tomorrow Editor:
“This is the first year we opened Stars of Tomorrow up to general submissions and the result was overwhelming, making it a more difficult selection than ever. The choice was made in June, and already the talents are beginning to pop. If the actors aren’t household names by next year, they’ll be well on their way."

Matt Mueller, editor of Screen International:
“Congratulations to this year’s Stars of Tomorrow. Once again, this is an outstanding group of young actors, directors, writers and producers from the UK & Ireland. This year’s Stars are testament to the vibrancy that exists in our film industry, and we will be rooting for all of them as they forge their individual careers.”
