Iraq-set violent thriller ‘Tiger Raid’, co-produced by Samson Films with support from the Irish Film Board, will premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival in New York next month.
‘Tiger Raid’ is a dark thriller featuring two mercenaries who journey across the desert while undertaking a kidnapping in Iraq. The film was shot in the Jordanian desert during the summer of 2014 with Sound Post taking place at EGG in Dublin.
The film, which stars Irish actors Brian Gleeson (‘Rebellion’), Damien Molony (‘Clean Break’) and Rory Fleck-Byrne (‘Midsomer Murders’) as well as Algerian actress Sofia Boutella (‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’), will premiere in the Midnight strand of Tribeca.
‘Tiger Raid’ is directed by Simon Dixon and written by Dixon, Gareth Coulam Evans and Mick Donnellan, based on Irish writer Donnellan’s acclaimed play of the same name. The film has been produced by Dublin-based Samson Films and London’s Dixon Baxi Evans Films and was co-financed by The Irish Film Board.
Tribeca takes place April 13-24 in New York with Northern Irish film ‘High Rise’, directed by Ben Wheatley, also screening.
