Irish film ‘The Hit Producer’ has been selected to screen at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico.
Directed by Kevin de la Isla O’Neill who is attending the festival, ‘The Hit Producer’ will be one of 22 films (out of 1500 submitted) to screen in competition for the Premio Mezcal. Among these is a film produced by Guillermo del Toro (who directed ‘Pan's Labyrinth’) who previously won the Premio Mezcal for his 1993 film ‘Cronos’.
The cast of ‘The Hit Producer’ includes Michelle Doherty, Neill Fleming, Fergus Kealy, Rory Mullen, Aenne Barr, Karl Shiels Andy Kellegher, Susan Barrett and Blake Norton. The film was shot entirely in Ireland by DOP Jass Foley with Mutiny Recording Studios and Screenscene making contributions during Post-production.
The film last year won eight awards of excellence from The IndieFEST Film Awards and has also been invited to screen at the 15th Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival taking place this month.
The Guadalajara Film Festival Festival ends on March 15. The IFB supported film world premiere of ‘The Price of Desire’ took place on Sunday, 8 March, at the festival with Mary McGuckian and Orla Brady in attendance.
‘The Price of Desire’ will also screen at JDIFF 2015 later this month.
