Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan is slated to appear at this year’s Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF), due to take place across Dublin from 19-29 March.
Ronan will be attending a screening of her film ‘Lost River’, a fantasy neo-noir film which was written and directed by Ryan Gosling and also stars Christina Hendricks and Eva Mendes.
Saoirse’s film ‘Brooklyn’ was last week given a US release date of November 6th putting it in the midst of Oscar contention after an overwhelmingly positive response at Sundance, which saw it acquired by Fox Searchlight in a $9m deal.
Other Irish talents that will appear at the festival include Orla Brady, Jack Reynor and Robbie Sheehan while international guests include Julie Andrews, Ryan O’Neal, Danny Huston, Russell Crowe, Alan Rickman, Kim Cattrall and Vincent Perez.
The JDIFF programme was launched last month with Festival director Gráinne Humphreys announcing that over 130 films will screen from 38 countries including Korea, Denmark, US, Brazil and Russia.
The festival will also include screenings of 17 Irish films including ‘Glassland’, ‘The Canal’, ‘Tana Bana’ and ‘Let Us Prey’.
JDIFF will take place across Dublin from 19-29 March. For more information go to www.jdiff.com.
