The Voice creator admits change is needed…The Voice creator John de Mol is to lead a global brainstorming session with production companies who have bought and produced ‘The Voice’ format in a bid to improve the singing format’s live shows, reports Broadcast. The two-day meeting is planned for this autumn and will see representatives from 20 countries, including the US, the UK, Germany and Holland, discuss how to evolve the Talpa format, which is produced in Ireland by Screentime ShinAwil.
eOne eyes Alliance takeover… Film distributor and producer eOne has confirmed to its board that it is planning to take over rival distributor Alliance Films, reports Variety. News of the Alliance talks came as eOne unveiled its annual results for the year ending March 31. The company reported a $37m profit before tax, up 103% from 2011.
