Five Minutes with Windmill Lane

Windmill Lane's 2014 credits include Love/Hate
In the midst of the holiday season and looking back on the year gone by, IFTN spoke to Tim Morris of Windmill Lane Pictures Post Production, as he looked back at a terrific year that included the acclaimed current season of ‘Love/Hate’ as well as looking at 2015 which will see them working on Jim Sheridan’s new feature ‘The Secret Scripture’.

IFTN:What have been the key shows/films/docs/dramas that you worked on in 2014?

Feature Films: 'Miss Julie' with Colin Farrell and Jessica Chastain, 'Young Ones’ with Michael Shannon,Nicolas Hoult and Elle Fanning, 'The Stag' with Andrew Scott,Brian Gleeson and Amy Huberman, ‘Let Us Prey’ starring Liam Cunningham and Pollyanna McIntosh, and Mary McGuckian’s Eileen Gray biopic ’ The Price of Desire' were all completed this year.

Documentaries: 'One Million Dubliners' for Underground Films, Daisy Asquith’s 'After the Dance' for BBC Storyville series, and 'Gray Matters’ for Marco Orsini.

Television drama: 'Love Hate season 5’,and ‘Undeniable’ for ITV.

What have been the highlights of 2014 for your company?

'Love Hate season 5' of course and managing to keep the secrets! Also the inspiring and award winning documentary 'One Million Dubliners' directed by Aoife Kelleher, Grading and finishing of Andrey Zvyagintsev’s ‘Leviathan’ by Windmill’s Dave Hughes. This film has 5 wins and 11 nominations internationally including one for the Golden Globe awards, this film is also the Russian entry film for the foreign language category in the 2015 Oscars.

What’s in store for the first quarter of 2015?

Corin Hardy’s thriller ‘The Hallows’ which is premiering in 2015 Sundance Festival, ’My Name is Emily’ for Newgrange Pictures directed by Simon FitzMaurice, ’L’Accabadora’ an Italian Irish co-production, Subotica Films ‘Sacrifice”, Treasure Films ‘Perdido Amor’ and Johnny O’Reilly’s ‘ Moscow Never Sleeps’ are all in post production. Also we begin in January Jim Sheridan’s ‘Secret Scripture’ starring Rooney Mara,Eric Bana,Vanessa Redgrave and Jack Reynor.

On television we are adding the finishing touches to Big Mountain’s ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ series for ITV and Sideline’s ‘Great British Castles’ for Channel 5.
