Film Movement has acquired the US rights to ‘A Thousand Times Good Night’, a melodrama starring Juliette Binoche as a war photographer who is so dedicated to her work that she endangers her own life and her family.
‘A Thousand Times Goodnight’ was produced between Ireland, Norway and Sweden. It co-stars Lauryn Canny (‘Amber’), U2’s Larry Mullen Jr and Maria Doyle Kennedy (‘Byzantium’, ‘The Tudors’). The film was co-produced by Jackie Larkin and Leslie McKimm of Newgrange Pictures. It was supported by the IFB and filmed partly in Dublin.
Eric Poppe’s fourth feature was sold by Germany’s Global Screen in a US distribution deal struck between Film Movement President Adley Gartenstein and Julia Weber, Global Screen’s head of theatrical sales.
Film Movement plan to give ‘A Thousand Times’ a fall theatrical release, after which it will be released on VOD and DVD.
Pacific Northweet Pictures has acquired rights to Canada.
‘A Thousand Times Goodnight’ premiered at the Montreal Film Festival at which it won the Grand Prix. It is currently showing in Norway, where it has had over 100,000 admissions in total.
The film was shown as part of the EFM in the Berlin Film Festival, and in this year’s JDIFF.
