Dublin-born Désirée Finnegan has been promoted to senior vice president of international publicity at Warner Brothers International. She previously held the vice president position, after being promoted from director of international publicity upon joining the company in 2004.
Prior to her job at Warner Brothers, Finnegan worked in the Irish music industry as well as holding a position in the Irish Government, for which she was based in New York.
In her new role, Finnegan will report to Lance Volland, who has been promoted from his position as senior vice president to executive vice president. Volland joined the company in 1998, and went to become director of international publicity.
President of worldwide marketing at Warner Brothers Sue Kroll said Finnegan had built “terrific relationships in the filmmaking community” and is a “wonderful asset” the Warner Brothers’ international publicity team. In her new role, Finnegan will continue to handle key department responsibilities in relation to publicity campaigns.
Finnegan previously worked on publicity for Warner Brothers’ box-office hits such as ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’. Both Finnegan and Volland will be based in Burbank, California, for their new Warner Brothers’ positions.
