Fingal Film Festival Sets Date For Inaugural Festival in 2012

It has been announced this week that the first ever Fingal Film Festival will take place on the 21st of March in the UCI Blanchardstown Centre and Draíocht. Independent filmmakers are being asked to submit their new films, documentaries, shorts and animation to the festival for screening.

The festival, which takes place over three days, will emphasis Fingal filmmakers in particular this year with the Fingal newcomer Director award. There will also be workshops in acting, directing, music composition and film production from leaders in the industry.

Liz Kenny, Managing Director of the Fingal Film Festival said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to put Fingal on the international stage and showcase the amazing talent that resides in this locality. There is so much talent in Fingal and this festival will become an annual event for these emerging artists to showcase their work.”

The FFF is supported by the UCI Blanchardstown Centre, Snap Blanchardstown, Fingal County Council, Lispopple Studios and IFTN. It is currently seeking volunteers to help with the running of the festival.
