As part of #GeekedWeek, Netflix has released a first look image and a clip from Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2, which has filmed both seasons on location in Wicklow.

Production commenced on the second season of Netflix’s fantasy-drama series in 2021, with a raft of new cast members being announced including newcomer Brandon Grace as Grey, Irish actor Éanna Hardwicke as Sebastian, and Paulina Chávez as Flora.

Although Grace is newcomer, Hardwicke’s recent credits include Element Pictures hit BBC series Normal People, Treasure Entertainment’s Smother, and Lorcan Finnegan’s suburban thriller Vivarium starring Jessie Eisenberg and Imogen Poots. Chávez credits also include The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia and Padre Pio.

The first-look image and clip show the arrival of Flora (Chávez) to the Fate: The Winx Saga series. Watch the first-look clip below:

Returning cast members include Abigail Cowen as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Danny Griffin as Sky, Theo Graham as Dane, Jacob Dudman as Sam, Ken Duken as Andreas and Rob James Collier as Silva.

The season two order includes 8 one-hour episodes and is a Netflix original series from Archery Pictures Production, in association with Rainbow.

Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries) will return as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Further Executive Producers include Judy Counihan and Kris Thykier from Archery Pictures (Riviera, The State) plus Joanne Lee and Cristiana Buzzelli from Rainbow.

“The six episodes in season one only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it,” Showrunner Brian Young. “As Bloom's story continues to evolve, I can't wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra, and Musa!”

Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence. The series is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi.

The first season filmed across several locations in Ireland with Kilruddery House in Bray acting as Alfea College, Powerscourt, Co.Wicklow being home to the Circle of Stones,  interiors being shot in Ardmore Studios, and additional scenes taking place across Dublin.

Fate: The Winx Saga will return to Netflix in 2022.
