Callout for Ideas: RTÉ Young Peoples 2019
26 Nov 2018 : Nathan Griffin
RTÉ has opened its 2019 call for ideas for young people’s programming.

Key areas in which the broadcaster is looking for applications include ‘Young Peoples Gameshow 5-7s’, ‘Young Peoples Bedroom Makeover 8-12s’, ‘RTÉjr/TRTE Documentary Strand’, ‘Scripted Short Form’ and ‘Studio or Location-Based Short Form’.

RTÉ Young Peoples Commissioning Brief

The RTÉ Children’s & Young People’s Department commissions and creates content for our youngest viewers, all the way up to 18 years of age.  It is imperative that the content we commission is creative, innovative and works hard to engage and appeal to what can be a challenging but ultimately loyal audience.  Our content is currently commissioned across three distinct age groups.  Our strategy going forward will be to create, support and grow hero content across our schedules, (returning series that resonate with our audiences) and continue to commission complimentary mixed genre content across multiple slots.
