New Crime Drama Series 'Innocent' Starring Fionn O’Shea to Air on TV3 Tonight
14 May 2018 : Nathan Griffin
‘Innocent’, a brand new crime thriller series starring Irish actor Fionn O’Shea will air exclusively on TV3 this week from Monday 14th May to Thursday 17th May.

‘Innocent’ is a story of love, lust, jealousy and betrayal, of one man’s fight to rebuild his shattered life and a family’s struggle to find out the truth behind their loved one’s murder.

After seven years in a high security prison, David Collins’ conviction for the murder of his wife is overturned on a technicality, or as his lawyer suggests, “an appalling miscarriage of justice”. David can now start his life again, repair his relationships with family and friends, see his children, and finally mourn for his wife, Tara. Well, at least this is what he had hoped for.

From the outside, Tara and David had the perfect life: married for 10 years, two beautiful children, a large house, and a successful business for Tara. To onlookers they were the stuff of dreams. However, to those close to them it was a different story, both drank too much, David’s business was failing, they were constantly arguing and, according to Tara’s sister, David had hit his wife on more than one occasion.

So when Tara doesn’t return from a night out and is subsequently found murdered, tied to the bottom of a river bed, the community is shocked to its core. This is a tale of one man picking himself up and starting again, in the face of almost insurmountable odds, even as many in his community continue to assert that there is no smoke without fire.

‘Innocent’ is about what it feels like to be labeled a monster when you know you have done nothing wrong, but also about how you can find love and inspiration in the most surprising places.

Fionn O’Shea was recently nominated for Best Actor and Rising Star at the 2018 IFTA Film & Drama Awards for his performance in John Butler’s ‘Handsome Devil’. Speaking with IFTN recently O’Shea told the site about his upcoming project ‘The Aftermath’ with Kiera Knightley, Jason Clarke, and Alexander Skarsgard. Fionn will also feature in Channel 4’s new comedy series ‘Hang Ups’, which is directed by Robert Delamere.

‘Innocent’ airs on TV3 on Monday 14th May at 9pm, Tuesday 15th May at 9pm, Wednesday 16th May at 10:30pm, and will conclude on Thursday 17th May at 9pm on TV3.
