The next course in Digital Filmmaking offered by Filmbase, is set to commence at the start of February and continue for twelve weeks.
Conor Barry, producer of the award-winning ‘Savage’, will be instructing students through the production modules on offer in the course. Conor Barry was also line-producer for ‘Silent Sonata’, and producer for TG4 series ‘Gualainn le Gualainn’ and the recent ‘Love Eternal.’
Aidan Maguire will also be teaching at the course, guiding the students on camera and lighting. Aidan has worked as a DOP, camera operator, and timelapse operator. He has worked with award-winning directors including Colm Quinn on the film ‘Joy.’
Location sound recording will be taught by Noel Quinn, who was nominated for ‘Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or a Special’ at the Primetime Emmys. His feature film credits include ‘P.S. I Love You’ and ‘This Must be the Place’ while his television credits include ‘The Tudors.’
The basics of writing short films will be taught by Stephen Walsh who acted, co-produced and wrote ‘Where the Sea Used to Be.’ He also wrote the documentary ‘Dreaming the Quiet Man.’
Other modules included in the course include directing, crew dynamics, pitching, and casting. Production design will be taught by Padraig O’Neill while casting and auditioning will be taught by Thyrza Ging. The course will culminate in two groups of students producing two short films.
