RTÉ Global, the newly branded sales and distribution division of RTÉ, has signed a deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for exclusive representation in the US of its non-scripted formats, it has been announced at MIPCOM this week.
The former RTÉ TV Sales division is headed by Dermot Horan - having enjoyed considerable success with such programmes as ‘Love/Hate’ which has achieved foreign sales to the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and South Korea.
‘Amber’, Screenworks’ four-part drama about a parents’ search for their missing daughter, has also represented a major success story for RTÉ in being sold to BBC4 in the UK and such territories as North America, South America, Canada and Australia.
The second series of 'Ireland’s Search and Rescue' is highlighted among RTÉ’s current slate of projects currently up for sale at MIPCOM this year, which is hosted by Claire Byrne and follows Ireland’s rescue services on land and sea.
Following the appointment of George Dixon and Bill Malone as RTÉ channel controllers earlier this year, Mr Horan was named as Director of Broadcast, Acquisitions and RTÉ Global to lead RTÉ’s international sales strategy in exploiting global market opportunities for content partnerships.
