Irish television network TV3 is seeking proposals for a serial soap drama that could potentially be commissioned to air in 2015.
With an aim to explore the lives of characters through “human drama, comedy, suspense and romance”, TV3 are inviting production companies to present proposals with defined settings, with “community, medical, Garda-based or any precinct-type location” among just some the suggestions.
Proposals for potential shows should provide thorough production plans, detailing not only projected budgets encompassing pre-production and production costs, but also staffing requirements and costs as well as shooting schedules. Applicants are also required to outline how to effectively avail of TV3’s Sony HD studio while working around the network’s other productions, as well as some detail as to other location requirements.
If commissioned, the selected drama could see air in January 2015, running an initial two nights per week in prime-time spots with various repeat slots throughout the week on both TV3 and their digital channel equivalent, 3e.
Applications are extremely time-sensitive, with the closing date for submission of proposals and budgets - to be mailed to soapproposal@tv3.ie - falling on Monday, October 21st. For more information on the scheme, visit their website.
