The Online Short Film Competition gives short filmmakers a chance to have their work screened at the Darklight Film Festival and to win a top of the range HD camera.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 19th
The Darklight Film Festival have teamed up with the European Commission in Ireland for the 2011 Online short film competition. The competition is seeking short online films to be submitted on the theme of ‘Europe 2020’ and what that means to you. The type and genre of film is open: whether recorded on a mobile phone or a state of the art video camera, whether live action or DIY animation, whether comedy, tragedy, documentary or drama, all entries are welcomed.
The winning filmmaker will receive a state of the art 60d worth €1200 and have their work screened this October at the 2011 Darklight Film Festival. Runner up prizes will also be awarded for highly commended entries. The Darklight Film Festival will take place from October 20-22nd 2011 at The Factory, Grand Canal Dock. The full programme includes screenings workshops with SFX Magician and Director Evan Glodell, a programming strand from Sheffield Doc/Fest Curator Hussain Currimbhoy and a symposium of workshops and discussion on the democratization of 3D techniques programmed by Gavin Kelly and Caroline Campbell on Friday October 21st.
