Jai Courtney cast in ‘Terminator’ Reboot
Jai Courtney, best-known for playing John McClane’s son, Jack, in action thriller ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, has signed on to play Kyle Reese in ‘Terminator: Genesis’. Courtney’s shooting schedule originally clashed with the filming of the ‘Terminator’ reboot, as the Australian actor was going to be in production for feature ‘Insurgent’ at the same time . However, a deal was worked out so that Courtney could do both films.

Plot details have not been revealed for the ‘Terminator’ film yet, though it has been confirmed that ‘Genesis’ will be the first of a standalone trilogy. The film is a Skydance and Paramount production. Jai Courtney, who is represented by UTA, Mark Morrissey and Silver Linings Entertainment, can next be seen in ‘Divergent’ (the prequel to ‘Insurgent’) which is out in Irish cinemas Friday April 4.

Sky Atlantic Airs ‘Gomorrah’
Set
Sky Atlantic has acquired Italian crime drama ‘Gomarrah’, the channel’s first foreign language series, from distributors Arrow Films and Beta Film. The subtitled series consists of 12 hour-long episodes which follow the Neapolitan crime organisation, the Camorra, and will air later in the year. The rights were bought by Sky Entertainment Acquisitions Manager Sophie Judge, and the series has already sold to Sky Germany, HBO Nordic in Scandinavia and HBO Latin America over the last year.

The television series is based on Roberto Saviano’s book of the same name, which was previously adapted into an award-winning feature film in 2008 also called ‘Gomorrah’. Sky Atlantic Channel Director Julia Barry stated the TV show will build on the success of Sky Atlantic’s first bi-lingual drama, ‘The Tunnel’. Beta Film Senior Vice-President of International Sales and Production Oliver Bachert described the series as “a milestone of new European television.”

Sky recently launched a TV scholarship with IADT. See the full story here.

’Into the Storm’ Teaser Trailer
Warner Brothers Pictures have released the trailer for ‘Into the Storm’, an action-thriller-disaster movie about a group of high school students who document the events and aftermath of a powerful tornado. Broken Road Productions, New Line Cinema and Village Roadshow Pictures produced the film. It is directed by Steven Quale (‘Final Destination 5’) and stars Richard Armitage (‘The Hobbit’), Sarah Wayne Callies (‘The Walking Dead’) and Matt Walsh (‘Ted’).

See the trailer below. ‘Into the Storm’ is set for an Irish release on 22 August.
