The National Film School at IADT is offering final year undergraduates and recent graduates the chance to take part in their second Animation Academy this 8-19th July, with two courses available in ‘Anime Studio Pro’ and ‘Post Production and Visual FX’.
Both courses are designed to bridge the gap between education and industry, to build on candidates’ strengths and assist animators who want to retrain into a more specialised area.
‘Anime Studio Pro – Production Pipeline’, running from 8th-12th July, will teach the animation software Anime Studio Pro, training students to use this vector-based 2D programme to produce animation.
Teaching the course will be Jeremy Purcell from Galway-based animation studio A Man & Ink, who has previously worked as an SFX supervisor for Cartoon Saloon.
‘Post Production and Visual FX Workflows’, running from 15th-19th July, will be partly hosted and taught by Screen Scene and examine post-production processes for animation with a special focus on digital compositing software Nuke.
Further details and application forms for both courses are available by contacting Adult and Continuing Education at IADT at (01) 239 4631 or by emailing: ptc@iadt.ie.
The NFS Animation Academy is supported by the Irish Film Board.
