'Gogglebox Ireland’ debut episode reaches 392,000 viewers

The new TV3 series aired for the first time yesterday at 21:30 on TV3 and will continue to air weekly for a further eleven episodes, narrated by Deirdre O’Kane and Rory Cowan.

The average viewership for this first episode was 152,000 with a peak audience of 189,000. 19% of this audiences was accounted for by the 15-44 age group.

Virgin Media is the Exclusive sponsor of ‘Gogglebox Ireland’, which was trending on Twitter last night as viewers shared their reactions to the ten Irish families on social media.

Highlights include identical Cavan twins standing for the Irish national anthem, a Michael ‘Tea’ Higgins tea cosy and twelve-year-old Danielle Grufferty’s emotional response to Gerard Barrett’s ‘Smalltown’.
