The second season of the IFTA-winning show returned to the small Irish screen last night at 21:30 on TV3 and finally revealed who was behind the murder of Brian McGonigle.
Irish audiences discovered that teenager Rachel who is played by Ann Skelly, was responsible for the murder. Her father Liam who is played by Anthony Brophy, was also revealed last night to have helped her dispose of the body.
Viewers have speculated as the identity of the killer since the conclusion of the first season, with social media reactions commending the performances of the Irish cast and crew in last night's big reveal.
‘Red Rock’ continues to air on TV3 throughout the Autumn season on Monday nights at 21:30, in a new one-hour slot. The cast and crew are currently shooting Season 3.
The show also made its UK debut on BBC on Monday July 11th this year, pulling in 1.3M viewers on the first episode. It was also announced earlier this month that the UK broadcaster has also acquired the second season, which covers episodes 81 through to 160.
‘Red Rock’ is commissioned by TV3, part of the Virgin Media Group and was acquired by the BBC via All3Media International. The drama is executive produced by Ed Guiney of Element Pictures and John Yorke of Angel Station (previously Company Pictures).
