‘Line of Duty’
‘Line of Duty’, filmed on location in Northern Ireland and supported by Northern Ireland Screen, returns with a third series on Thursday, 24th March at 9pm on BBC One.

The third series of ‘Line of Duty’ executive produced for BBC Northern Ireland by Stephen Wright was made with funding from Northern Ireland Screen supported by Invest NI. It follows the signing of the BBC and Northern Ireland Screen Partnership Agreement in March 2015. This joint agreement sees the BBC and Northern Ireland Screen work together to invest financially and creatively in developing an internationally competitive screen industry in Northern Ireland. Another BBC series – ‘The Fall’ starring Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson – has recently wrapped its’ third season in Northern Ireland.

The new series of ‘Line of Duty’ opens with the fatal shooting of a criminal suspect by an armed response unit led by Sergeant Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays).

Danny and his team claim they acted in self-defence, but AC-12, led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), gather evidence that suggests that this was a deliberate killing. Under interview, Danny confidently rebuts all of AC-12’s accusations that he acted unlawfully, so DC Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) is sent undercover into Danny’s team to find out more.

Ingratiating herself to her new colleagues, Kate is quick to identify tensions and conflict between Danny and his team. But when Kate’s own conduct comes under scrutiny, she finds herself sidelined from an armed drugs raid that goes very badly wrong.

The first episode of the new six part series will be broadcast on Thursday 24 March on BBC One Northern Ireland from 9pm with the rest of the series on Thursdays on BBC Two Northern Ireland at 9pm.
