Art Parkinson on 'Kubo and the Two Strings'
06 Jan 2017 : Deirdre Hopkins
Ahead of the Golden Globes this Sunday, we caught up briefly with Art Parkinson, the young Donegal actor who’s voice is featured on the Globe nominated ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’.

"I'm very proud and honoured to be a part of a project that has been so successful and touched so many people. I'm now really looking forward to award season and hopefully it will do well as the whole team at Laika has worked so hard through the art that is stop-motion animation over the five year period it took to make this project.

“As a film, ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ promotes morals and pride in culture, which to me is very important being a Gaelic football enthusiast and a speaker of my native language which has now given me the opportunity to be one of the ambassadors for this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge celebration."

Art, who is most well known for his role as Rickon Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones, is himself nominated in the Annie Awards for his Voice Acting in a Feature (coming up on February).

We’ll have a full interview with Art next month ahead of the Annie Awards in February.
